Michael Griffin

On May 25, 2022, Michael slipped into eternal peace after a long battle with numerous health conditions. Mike, as he was called by many was predeceased by his parents Mr. Roland Griffin and his wife Vernice T. Mosley of Virginia Beach, VA and cousin Reginald Eugene Mosley.  Mike was born in Norfolk, Virginia, December 2, 1957.

Mike’s personality description would be perplexing to those who did not know him. He was the type of person you had to experience. He loved his family and friends. His sense of humor, witty remarks, and sarcasm would have you in tears laughing or absolutely infuriated. Mike loved music and even learned to play the drums. He played in the marching band at Bayside High School, at Hampton Institute in his college days, and even sparked the interest to play in his younger cousins. He also loved sports! Young Mike could often be found playing football in the neighborhood with fellas or as a young adult playing basketball at area courts. He loved the Dallas Cowboys! On game day, the performance of the team would let you know if you should talk to him (Dallas winning = happy Mike). His other interests included photography, playing Chess, and pool.  Mike had a number of careers over the years, most notable was as a technician at nuclear energy plants across the country. His most recent career choice at Ocean Lakes High School (from which he retired) he enjoyed because he was able to be at home in Virginia Beach.

Michael leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother Roland Griffin (Jacquilyn), first cousins Ronda Daughtry (John), Alfred Mosley (Rhonda), and Geraldine Jones (Maurice). Younger cousins to whom he has been influential and will miss him Megan, Shawn, and Harrell Harper, and Ashley, Alicia, and April Horton. He will be cherished in memory by Candice Smith and a host of friends and family.
