Sammie Dell Hastings, 78, transitioned from this life on September 2, 2021. She was born on March 24, 2021 in Columbus, GA to the late Samuel and Verdell Steward.

Sammie was a hard-working woman who started working at the early age of 14 and she worked all her life until she retired as a cook at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Sammie had many hobbies, she enjoyed baking, cooking, traveling, and in her earlier years she loved going bowling.

Besides her parents, Sammie was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Randy Steward.

Sammie leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband, James Hastings; children, Larry Emanuel, Michael Emanuel, Debra Emanuel, Cynthia Menifee (Donald); grandchildren, Terrance Emanuel, Chomari Menifee, Dahron Menifee, Akina Emanuel, Yavanae Emanuel, Diamond Cuffee, Tasha, Shantae; siblings, Mildred and Alvin Campbell, Anthony and Pam Steward, Marion Parker and a host of other relatives and friends.
