Myra Clanton Obituary

 Myra Andrea Clanton, 56, of Virginia Beach, VA, gained her heavenly wings on September 4, 2021.

Born in New Haven, CT on September 3, 1965 to Jerry Nixon and Albertha Nelson. She graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1983. She relocated to Virginia after enlisting in the United States Navy where she served for 20 years, retiring in 2004. Shortly thereafter, Myra opened her own business providing daycare services to the community, focusing on those in need. Her greatest passion was being surrounded by and spending time with her family, traveling, and looking after her daycare children.

Myra leaves to cherish her memories her husband, William Clanton, Jr.; her daughters Danielle Moore and Tyeisha Clanton; son, William L. Clanton (Kerria); grandchildren, Jazmin West, Amari Moore, Kieran and Ma’Zina Clanton; father Jerry Nixon (Tarby); mother, Albertha Nelson; sisters, Ingrid Thomas and Rhonda Nelson; brothers Todd and Kevin (Simone) Nixon; sister-in-laws Brenda (Sterling) Pulley and Cathy Boyd; and brother-in-law Allen (Dorothy) Clanton, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
