Pandora Morgan peacefully transitioned from this life on Saturday, October 19, 2024. She was born Vodia Pandora Hedgepeth on September 5,1932, in Hollister, NC to the late Jimmie and Ivor Hedgepeth. Pandora was predeceased in death by her husband Donald E. Morgan, her son Samuel T. Morgan, siblings Myra Richardson, Quincy Hedgepeth Lewis, Clint Evans, Slyvester Purnell Hedgepeth, James Hinton Hedgepeth and granddaughter Britany LaShell Morgan.
Pandora was baptized at the age of 12 and attended their family church Pine Chapel in North Carolina. She graduated from Eastman High School in Enfield, NC. Upon graduation Pandora was accepted into St Agnes School of Nursing in Raleigh, Norh Carolina. She held the position of Treasurer for the graduating class of 1955. Pandora met the love of her life, Donald Morgan while attending St Agnes and they were married on May 1, 1954, in Raleigh, North Carolina. She retired from her nursing career as a Register Nurse after about 20 years.
Pandora was a charter member of the New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. E Ray Cox Sr, now lead by Pastor Michael Keyes. She served faithfully as church secretary from November 7,1975 until September 30, 1990, Deaconess ministry for over 50 years, Sunday School teacher and a mentor to many.
Pandora is survived by her 3 wonderful sons Donald E. Jr. (Nannette) Vincent (Sherita) of Virginia Beach and Christopher (Tawonya) of Elizabeth City, NC, one daughter Robin (Charles) of Bronx, NY, one sister Verna Jeter of Hollister, NC, 17 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren, 2 goddaughters Alonda Hamiltion, Nicole Livas, one godson Marcus Cowell and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
