Mrs. Pearline Mack Cornick was born February 2, 1936 to Rev. Daniel W. Mack and Pearl Kimble Mack on the Eastern Shore in Onancock, Virginia.
Pearline began her journey with the lord at an early age and ended her journey on July 19, 2019 as a strong advocate for the teachings of our Lord and Savior. She loved the Lord and always had scriptures to share with family and friends.
Pearline was dedicated to her family, friends and community. For the Doyle Way community, she was a mother figure, loyal friend and comforter when in need. She also was a dedicated giver to the Union Mission of Norfolk and in recent years visited the facility to meet with staff and clients.
Pearline was a Graduate of the Princess Anne Training School, the class of 1955. She was the Co-Captain of the 1955 Girls’ Basketball Team. She appears in a picture with her team on display at the Union Kempsville Museum in the Va. Beach Renaissance Academy. She continued her love for sports and was a diehard “Redskins” fan. Pearline also loved to debate world issues and politics. When you walked into her home, you knew you were going to spend hours of fun and experience an intellectual stimulation.
Pearline was predeceased by her husband, Willie Lee Cornick Sr.; son, Willie Lee Cornick Jr.; brother, Daniel J. Mack and sister, Beulah M. Johnson.
Her memories will forever be in the hearts of her son, Barry Donnell Cornick {Laurette}; daughter, Barbara Ann Cornick; sister, Evelyn M. Scott; grandsons, Terrence Tyler {Tangela}, Barry Speller, Percy Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; two special friends, Ms. Mable McPherson and Ms. Bernadean Woodhouse.
