In Loving Memory of Percell Beale
April 8, 1942 - September 01, 2024
Percell Beale was born on April 8, 1942, in the New Light section of Princess Anne County, Virginia Beach, VA. He was the third son of the late Roosevelt Beale Sr. and Elnora Walston (Jasper) and the 24th grandchild of the late Rev. Johnny and Hattie McCoy.
Percell was a proud graduate of Union Kempsville High School, class of 1958. For over 40 years, he, along with his brothers, successfully ran Beale’s Carpet Services and also owned a club in New York. Known for his impeccable style and presence, Percell was a vibrant figure who never missed an event. His commitment to staying connected with family and friends, despite the distances, was a testament to his character. His love for his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and especially his beloved Aunt Deloris, was evident to all who knew him. Percell was truly the cornerstone of his family; a unifier whose absence will be profoundly felt.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Beale; two of his beloved children, Valerie Cuffie-Bennett (Robert) and Russell Smith; grandsons, Shawn Askins, Trelon George; siblings, Roosevelt Beale Jr., and Louis Beale.
Percell leaves to cherish his memory his children: Barry Creekmore, Iris Harris (Charles), Percell Beale (Nicole), Marshala Addison (Troy), Tarsha Thorpe (Ralph), Jason Beale (Kim), Ras Blessings, Percell Lawton (Alice), and Lafaroll Lawton.
Percell is also survived by a host of grandchildren: Aneshia, Aaron, Barrney, Terrell, Shaniqua, Robert, Chris, Terry, Jeron, Timiris, Nick (Teresa), Nate, Charnelle, Jeremy, Maurice, Brandon (Sam), Joshua, Aulisha, Erykah, Allen Jr., Ge’Quayla, Peyton, Alex, Josiyah, Xavier, Kingston, Ronan, Jayshon, Jason, Yonell, Percell Jr., LaTarsha, Damon, Tyheem, Tyvonte, Tyshawn, Tyrek, Jafar, Larry, Tachae, Marquis, Cahlyah, Tashara, Alexis, Nashayla, Jamel, and Detrianna (Chantel); godmother: Maxine Collins Edney godchildren: Harold Trumble, Avery White, Laurie Anderson-Tobias; special family and friends include Jimmy Barrington, Cynthia Lawton, Gary Bond, Dennis Claggion, Quincy Wynn, Louise Kimble, Amos Beale, Steve Beale, Chic, Maurice Fuller, and Wilbur Mosley; his significant other, Denise Charles; and a host of other relatives and friends.
