Plummer Crumble Obituary

Obituary

Plummer Lee Crumble, age 82, of Virginia Beach, Virginia transitioned to his eternal home on Friday, April 18, 2025. Lee, as he was called by his family and close friends was born in Conetoe, North Carolina on April 3, 1943 to the late Plummer Este Crumble and Viola Andrews Crumble.

He was educated in the Virginia Beach public schools. He became an apprentice with Preston Masonry Company and later became a master bricklayer. If you ride through Doyle Way, you will find many brick mailboxes which were crafted by him.

He was married to, and later divorced Minnie Bell Palmer. From this union they had one child, Gwendolyn Maschell, who was his pride and joy. Though divorced, they remained friends over the years while raising their daughter.

Lee accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church where he was a faithful member attending services regularly until his health prevented him from being able to do so. On Father's Day 2019, he was awarded a Certificate of Achievement from Rehoboth Baptist Church for heartfelt respect and appreciation for his unselfish and faithful devotion to his family, and his church family.

Lee was a pleasant and easygoing person who tried to get along with everyone. He didn't like confusion and tried to keep the peace in all situations. In his younger years he loved fast, pretty, and shiny cars. He kept his cars neat and clean just as he did himself.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Gwendolyn Maschell Miles; two grandsons, Bakari and Keon Miles; one great granddaughter, Audrina Miles; one sister, Rosa C Owens; one brother, William David Crumble; a goddaughter, Monique Banks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by two brothers, Este Junior Crumble, James Gilbert (Phyllis) Crumble, and one sister, Margaret C. Palmer.

Lee was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
