Robert L. Hall

On Thursday, January 6, 2022, the Angel of Mercy silently and peacefully came in the early hours and gave our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend eternal rest. Robert L. Hall was born March 5,1940 in Norfolk Va. to the late Leonard Hall and Ellen Hall. Robert was the eldest of thirteen children from this union. He was educated in the Norfolk Public school system. In 1965 Robert married his wife Christine B. Griffin of Portsmouth, VA and they were married for 56 years. To this union they had two sons, Bobby Dee Hall and David Anthony Hall and a daughter, Yolanda Hall Williams.

Robert was employed with Norfolk Naval Shipyard (22yrs), Metro Shipyard (18yrs), Newport News Shipyard, Colonna Shipyard and Thermcor Shipyard of Norfolk, VA. Robert was known for mentoring his fellow workers and he made many friends along the way. Robert loved baseball and played in a league for several years.

Robert and family moved to Portsmouth, VA and he joined Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member until his health began to fail.

Along with his parents, five brothers and three sisters predeceased him:

brothers, Melvin, Roland, Leonard, Johnny and Alfonso; sisters, Clara Hall, Rosetta Hall and Joan Hall Whitehurst.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Christine, two sons, Bobby Dee Hall of Norfolk, VA, David Anthony Hall of Portsmouth, VA; one daughter, Yolanda Hall Williams (Antoine) of Portsmouth, VA; two brothers Clayton Hall (Jesse) of Chesapeake, VA, James Hall of San Diego, California, two sisters Floretta Hall Macklin of New York  and Marilyn Perry of Portsmouth, VA; three grandsons, David Hall of Portsmouth, VA, DeArius Hall of Maryland, Javon Keeling of Norfolk, VA, one granddaughter Cassandra Hall of Norfolk, Va.; five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and multitude of friends.
