Celebrating the Life of Shakira Sanae “Kira” Clark
December 5, 2001 – October 27, 2025
Shakira Sanae Clark, affectionately known as Kira (yes, her cousin Kyyah claims Kira’s mom borrowed the name from cousin Zaikyyrah Laneh’—and made it her own), was a radiant soul: brilliant, bold, and beautifully one-of-a-kind. Her quiet laugh had depth, her kindness had reach, and her presence? Unforgettable.
Kira graduated early from Bayside High School because why wait? She earned honors and admiration, then dove headfirst into a business degree with a focus in accounting. She collected certifications like they were Pokémon cards, calling them “bonus and necessary.” She even became a licensed CNA, because helping people was just her thing.
Her proudest title, though? Mom. She raised her two babies, Saige (3) and King (1), with love, structure, and a whole lot of personality. These kids speak in full sentences, show discipline beyond their years, and sparkle with her same beauty and brilliance. Basically, they’re mini-Kiras with extra sass.
Kira leaves behind a massive fan club: her devoted mom Michelle Swift; siblings Shakym, Shakiyla, Isaiah, Derrick “DJ”, Jalien, Destiny, Diamond, Jahkayla, Lil Doe, Rosheik, Rodrik, Jada, Nia, Devon, Devontae, Dajanee, Tenaj, Alexis, Iesha; her father Horace Taylor; her father-in-love Roderick Clark; her grandmothers Phyllis Swift and Diane Clark; and a whole village of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her.
Shakira was predeceased by her grandparents, Margaret Swift, Minnie Thorogood, Robert A. Swift and Ruby Taylor.
Kira was a sewing ninja—needle, thread, machine, you name it. She was launching a children’s clothing line based on her own sketches, inspired by her kids’ wild imaginations. Her creativity was notable. And when DJ couldn’t figure out how to assemble a bed, Kira stepped in like a boss and showed him how it’s done. She was the definition of a “good girl”—smart, stylish, and never messy.
She danced through life literally. TikTok routines? Mastered. Joy? Delivered. Her apartment didn’t have a kitchen table because she turned that space into a play zone for her kids. Priorities: Her children’s happiness mattered the most.
Her humor was delightfully corny. One Easter, she told cousin Britny she was “eggcited” to hunt for eggs. Her sweet voice and signature dimple in her Swift left cheek were family trademarks, passed down from her great-grandmother and Aunt Toni and now carried on by her babies.
Kira had just landed a job at Bath & Body Works, where her love for self-care and helping others shine made her a perfect fit. She was beautiful, inside and out.
She lived with intention. She protected her peace, her children, and her grandmothers fiercely. Her vision board was full of dreams, and her final Sunday was spent in worship—her heart turned toward God, full of praise and light. And yes, she wore a crown that day. Not just figuratively, she literally walked around with a crown on her head, joyful and glowing, like the princess she was.
Cooking? Not her thing. Her mom lovingly remembers the many meals Kira tried to make to make for. Tried is the keyword. But she never gave up she eventually mastered Rasta Pasta. She was a mama bear with quiet strength, and when life got hard, she stood tall, spoke out, and chose healing.
Kira’s legacy lives on in every stitch, sketch, dance, and dream she inspired. She was deeply loved, and her light continues to shine in every heart she touched. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved big cousin and now neighbor, Raymond “Ray Ray” Swift.
