Sharon Kay Nicholson-Hooper

Sharon Kay Nicholson-Hooper, 66, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, peacefully passed away on July 13, 2026.

Born on October 18, 1959, in Norfolk, Virginia, Sharon was the beloved daughter of Sallie Ann Nicholson and the late George Robertson. Growing up in the area, she built a life filled with connection, meaning, and dedication to those she loved.

Sharon was a sweet, gentle soul with a warm, beautiful spirit. She walked through life with an inspiring combination of strength, resilience, and courage, balancing her grit with a deeply compassionate heart. She lived by the golden rule, always treating others exactly how she wished to be treated. Sharon found joy in the quiet beauty of life—whether she was planting, crocheting, coloring, reading, or enthusiastically trying out new recipes. She had a lifelong love of learning new things, and her family will forever miss her warmth, her loving nature, and her favorite, familiar sign-off, “I know that’s right.”

Sharon's legacy of love continues through her family. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Norma Y. Wilson (James) and Ashley N. White (Dominique); her cherished grandchildren, Jaylen D. Nicholson-White, Kaleb J. Nicholson-White, and Niko A. Nicholson-White; her loving mother, Sallie Ann Nicholson; her sister, Paula Dunlap; her brother, Michael Nicholson; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was reunited in peace with those who preceded her in death: her father, George Robertson; her sister, Vanessa Taylor; her brother, Claythan Nicholson; her darling granddaughter, Miyah N. Nicholson; and her beloved grand dogs, Bugsey and Bear.
