Shelia A. Moore of Portsmouth, VA, a caring mother, grandmother and friend, peacefully departed this life on June 15, 2021 at the age of 61.
She was born to Carey Lee and Gwendolyn Watford on February 7, 1960 in Coleraine, NC and was raised primarily in Ahoskie, NC where she met her husband, Lionell V. Moore Sr. Together, they had 4 children: Lionell II, Antonia, LaTosha, and LaKesha. She spent her young adult life traveling the world as a United States Army dependent spouse, living in Germany and Hawaii to name a few places. She later settled in Portsmouth, VA where she was known for taking anyone in as her own, always having a kind word, great advice, warm hugs, and for being the biggest Washington Redskins fan in the world. Many in the community, ‘til this very day, affectionately call her “Mom”.
Shelia was predeceased by her grandparents, parents and her beloved son, Antonia R. Moore.
She leaves behind to lovingly continue her legacy her children, Lionell V. Moore II (Denetra) of Virginia Beach, VA, LaTosha M. Moore of N. Wilkesboro, NC, and LaKesha L. Moore of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Asja, MiKiyah, Denim, Lionell III, Javien, Antonio, Lylanii, Ayonna; sibling Sherwin Lee Watford of Akron, OH; special friends Emma, Will & Ralph along with a host of other relatives and friends.
