On May 4, 2022, God sent his angels down and called home Shirley Christina Crumble Cole “Cheryl.” Shirley was born March 17, 1958. She was predeceased by her father Isaiah Crumble and Mother Dessie Mabine and her brothers, Johnnie, Willie Ray, and James Crumble.
Shirley graduated from First Colonial High School, Virginia Beach, VA. She started working at the age of 15 years old and was well known to be a hard worker. She worked at Lindbald as a tent maker for many years, various food establishments, retired from Linkhorn Apartments. She was well known and well loved by everyone who knew her. She was well spoken and her laughter and humor touched those around her. She was athletic and energetic. She loved playing softball, taking long walks for pleasure, and karate. Shirley also loved watching Lifetime movies, being in a pool, or at the beach.
She was family oriented and loved going to her Baptist Church. She was strong and always pressing forward.
Shirley leaves to cherish her precious memories, her son, Kevin Crumble (Diane); two brothers, Albert Crumble and Clifton Mabine; Sister Joyce Dozier; two grandchildren, Danali and Kevina Crumble; sister in law, Linda Crumble, uncles, aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a god child. She also leaves her devoted fiancé, Charles Mayes III , and her brother and sister in loving spirit, Paul Fentress and Kasean Davis (Beanie). Thomas Lyons and Jalbar Spellman were treated as her sons and she loved them very much.
