Sue Hogan Heatherley, 87, passed away peacefully at home on April 30, 2022 of natural causes. She was born and raised in Altavista, Va. and called the Virginia Beach area home for much of her life. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister and mother.
She retired as a Department of Defense federal worker serving the Department of Navy. She was a life member of the First Baptist Church of Norfolk. She was the daughter of the late Howard “Flat” Hogan and Christine Carter Hogan of Altavista, Va.
She was preceded in death by her son James Glenn Heatherley, Jr., three brothers Howard “Lloyd” Hogan, William R. “Billy” Hogan, Guy Esmond Hogan and two sisters, Mary “Bae” Hayner and her twin sister, Lou Coffer.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted children: Frances (Kaye) Carney (Chris) of Norfolk and Robert (Bob) Howard Heatherley of Virginia Beach, as well as six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Jean H. Tanner (Lester) of Florida and many special nieces and nephews.
