Tabitha Ann Walker

Tabitha Ann Walker, at the age of 50 died peacefully after a courageous battle with colon cancer on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at her mother’s home in Norfolk, VA. Daughter of Joe Tann & Lillie Mary Tann, "Tabby" as she was known to many, was born and raised in Norfolk and briefly resided in Elizabeth City, NC and Killen, TX. Tabby attended Norview & Granby High Schools. She pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Elizabeth City State University, and obtained her degree from Norfolk State University. She spent most of her career working at HSBC in various positions, though her desire was to start her own catering business. Thanks to her mother, she had a preference for cooking soul food.

Tabitha had an affection for elephants, which decorated her home. Tabby enjoyed traveling, and would hit the road on a whim. She would often take her daughter on surprise trips.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her parents; her daughter, Desiree Hall; sisters, Deborah Tann and Katrina Tann-White; sister-cousin, Ethel Louise Scoggins; nieces, Ashley & Adriah White, and Semira Bracey; a great nephew; multiple aunts; uncles; and cousins. She will be remembered for her dedication to being a mother, and her willingness to help others.
