On Thursday, May 18, 2023, our Heavenly Father called his angel Tarra Ferguson -Davis home. She was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Verneda Barham Ferguson and Clarence Ira Ferguson, Sr. Predeceased by her brother Clarence Ira Ferguson Jr., She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 24 years, Jerry Davis Sr. and stepson Jerry Davis Jr. Along with siblings Lawrence Owes Sr., Chaneta Joshway, Michael J. Ferguson Sr., Steven Ferguson (Rosa), Clarence Ira Lomax (Elsie), Charles Davis and Ronnie Davis. In addition to her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
From 1976 through 1983 Tarra pursued her education at various universities and acquired great knowledge and experience. After being diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy she began to assist individuals with exploring independent living on a personal and community level. Her ambition grew as she went on to work various positions including Chesapeake and Potomac as a sales associate and AT&T as a sales rep. Her greatest accomplishment stemmed from counseling and mentoring individuals at The Endependence Center Incorporated in Norfolk,VA.
Tarra was a true warrior. She fought and overcame breast cancer and life’s many challenges everyday she was with us. As a woman of faith she loved her friends and family greatly. She enjoyed attending church, watching movies, and hosting plenty of card games. She was a long-time member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and was always prepared to share Gods love. Tarra was a teacher of all things; she was strong, brave, and one of the kindest you’ll ever meet. She will be truly missed.
