Thomas Williams, affectionately known as “Tommy” or “Bird”, was born on August 10, 1927 to the late Henry and El1en Williams in Savannah, GA.
After completing his education, Thomas served in the US Marine Corps for several years. Thomas was honorably discharged and relocated to New York city for a better job opportunity.
Shortly after relocating to New York, Tommy met the love of his life, Grace Rutledge. The two married and settled in Harlem. Until retirement, Tommy worked the garment district in Manhattan. He was a hardworking man and rarely missed a day of work.

Tommy actively attended the senior center three days a week where he met and socialized with his friends. Tommy was a good man who took care of his family and cared about his friends. He loved listening to old school R&B on the radio, watching his favorite baseball team, the Mets, and could always be spotted wearing one of his brimmed hats.
Tommy is survived by his children, Eulamae Myers of Virginia Beach, VA, Kenneth Rutledge (Ashley) of Norfolk, VA, Tiffany Smith (Kris) of GA; two sisters, Helen of Savanah, GA, Berneda of NY; brother-in-law, James; two sisters-in-law, Frances Askin and Ethel Deas both of NY.
