Tiffany R. L. Smith

Tiffany Rashelle Lynette Smith 45, a beacon of laughter and love, passed away on October 29, 2024, in her hometown of Norfolk, Virginia with her son by her side, after her battle with congestive heart failure. Born on November 16, 1978, also in Norfolk, Tiffany's infectious humor and generous spirit were evident from an early age.

A proud graduate of Indian River High School's class of 1997, Tiffany's zest for life was matched only by her passion for childhood education, which she pursued at Tidewater Community College.

Professionally, Tiffany was the much-loved manager of Tech Support at Life Protect 24/7, where she not only dispensed technical advice but also a pleasant person to work with. Her colleagues often said the real tech support she provided was for the soul, troubleshooting life's glitches with a joke and a smile.

Tiffany's interests were as colorful as her personality. She loved to sing, her voice often carrying through the neighborhood, much to the delight of her friends and family. Crocheting wasn't just a hobby for Tiffany; it was an opportunity to weave her stories and punchlines into every loop and stitch. And let's not forget her legendary status as the "comeback queen" of Phase 10, a title she defended. Word games were another of Tiffany's joys, with Farm Hill Saga being one of her favorites.

Tiffany was kind, loving, and thoughtful words that her friends and family used so often. But if you asked her, she'd say “My kids are my priority". Her humor could defuse any situation, and she had a knack for making everyone around her feel like the most important person in the room.

Tiffany's legacy is not just in the memories she leaves behind, but in the countless lives she touched with her humor and compassion. Her laughter echoes in the halls of Life Protect 24/7, in the quiet concentration of a Phase 10 game night, and in every note she ever sang. She was a melody of mirth in a world that often needed a reason to smile.

Tiffany was predeceased by grandmother, Debra Lenora McLean, grandfathers, Waverly Smith, Sr., Clarence McLean, Sr.; aunt, Connie Smith; and uncle, Clarence McLean, Jr.

Tiffany is survived by her daughter, Ty’Lah Smith; son, Tyson Smith; mother, Gail Smith; father, Waverly Smith, Jr.; brothers, Waverly Smith III, Christopher E. Smith (Dariya); grandmother, Reda Mae Smith; godparents, Willie and Linda Daniels, Estelle and Robert Gregory; bonus brothers, Rowan Reid, Tobias Green, Melvin Vaughn, Corey Smith; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
