Timothy F. O'Donnell

Timothy Francis O’Donnell of Virginia Beach passed away August 11, 2021.  Tim was born December 26, 1956 in Bremerton Washington to his beloved parents Terry and Margie from Hamilton Montana.  As the son of a Naval officer, he would live across the U.S. including Alaska, California, Hawaii, North Carolina, and Virginia. 

Tim received his high school diploma, with honors, from West Forsyth in Clemmons NC.  He attended Appalachian State University in Boone NC receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Business and went on to have a successful career in US Government consulting. 

Tim is preceded in death by his Parents. He is survived by his Son Matthew and Wife Alex, Grandchildren Cameron, Avi and Dean of Key West, Florida.  Daughter Shea Klink and Husband Adam, Grandchildren Noah and Wyatt of Georgetown, Texas. Brother Michael and Wife Debbie, Niece Katie of Lafayette, Louisiana.  Nephew Alec O’Donnell & Family of England.   Sister Mary Green and Husband Mark, Nephew Daniel of Asheville, NC. 

Tim treasured the fascinating history of his family from Montana and beyond, and the friends he made along the way of his own life and the story’s they all created together. Above all, most precious to Tim were his children Matt and Shea. Being able to watch and help them grow into the adults they are now always brought an appreciative smile to his face.  True joy for Tim was knowing what amazing people Matt and Shea continue to grow into and the beautiful families they are bringing to this world. 

Memories of Tim will be of the loyal loving Son, Brother, Father, and Friend who taught us the joy of surfing, fishing, cooking, conversation, and good fun.  One other memory of Tim will forever lie in his love of dreams for the future, especially those of young folks like those espoused in an old song from the early 1960’s that Tim and his Father adored. Of course, life does eventually take hold of things even in Honalee. But rest assured Tim, those dreams were real and will never be lost.
