Life Reflections
Vera Renna Everette quietly departed this life on December 3, 2024. She was born on April 24,1957 at DePaul Hospital in Norfolk, VA to Eddie and Vera Barfield. Deciding to dedicate her life to Christ at an early age, Vera became a faithful member of Calvary Revival Church in Norfolk, VA. Vera truly loved the Lord.
Vera was a 1977 graduate of Indian River High School in Chesapeake, VA. She then went to work at Old Dominion University, Norfolk VA for 25 years until her retirement. She loved her job very much as well as her coworkers whom she considered her extended family. There was nothing you could not ask of her that she was not willing to do.
Vera’s personality and character made everyone smile. She had a giving spirit and was a kind-hearted person who loved taking her children and grandson to church, cooking, watching her tv soap operas, and enjoying family and her adorable cat. She made it known to everyone that her children and grandson were her heartbeat.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Everette, Sr.; daughter, Sheena Everette; and her parents, Eddie and Vera Barfield.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted son, Willie D. Everette, Jr. of Virginia Beach; grandson, Jamari Q. Everette of Virginia Beach; sister, Marva Barfield of California; brothers, Eddie Barfield of Kentucky, Anthony R. Barfield of Chesapeake VA; uncle, Boon Barfield; aunts, Carrie, Irene Baker, Janie Baker (Frank, Sr.); sisters-in-law, Evangelist Deborah A. Gary (Roy), Florine Jackson (Bernard); and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
