When Mae was a child, her family relocated to Norfolk, VA. She was a graduate from Norfolk Public Schools and furthered her education, graduating from Central School of Practical Nursing. Mae had strong spiritual roots and was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in Feb 1978 and again in April 2022 . In 1977, she grew closer to God when she became a devoted member of Tabernacle Prayer For All People, under the direction of Pastor M.M. Terry. After relocating to Texas, Mae re-devoted her life to Christ and became a member of New Direction Community Church under the direction of Pastor Cedric Francis.

Willia Mae Davis had a gift for taking care of others. Her nursing career started when she became a CNA at Lynn Shore Manor. She worked countless hours caring for others.
