Remembering & Celebrating
William Augustus Wilson Jr.
February 1, 1970 - September 30, 2025
William Augustus Wilson Jr. went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025. He was born on February 1st, 1970 in Virginia Beach, VA to William Wilson Sr. and Vivian Lewis. William was educated in the Virginia Beach City Public School System at Kellam High School. He worked as an Asphalt worker for over 30 years. The last 20 of those years, he was a dedicated worker for Paragon Paving, where Harry “Bossman” Erving took him under his wing and they became the best of friends.
William was a straight forward no-nonsense kind of guy, with a great sense of humor. He was sensitive, loving and hard working. “Pop”, as he was lovingly called, was described as confident, strong, loyal, loving, aggressive, funny (at least he thought he was, lol), determined, and well dressed (Mr. Polo himself). He was also very athletic, especially in baseball and football.
There was never a dull moment in his presence, his vibrancy and enthusiasm for life in all aspects, will be truly missed. Therefore, it goes without saying, that his passion and fervor was expressed when rooting for the Vikings. William was a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan, and he made sure to go hard for his team. William also shared over 27 years of his life with his longtime partner Denise Mitchell, whom was devotedly by his side until the end, and as we all know, Denise loved “Will” deeply.
William was predeceased by his parents William Wilson Sr. and Vivian Lewis, several aunts, uncles and cousins. William is survived by his longtime partner Denise Mitchell, his children G’Jordan Miller Sr. (Evelyn), Cierra Holloway, Tearea White (Zachary), and his grandchildren Jayda, G’Jordan Jr., Jaylon, Vayla, Vayana, Princeton, Londyn, and Zuri. William was also survived by his siblings Michael Lewis, Phyllis Wood, Ray Lewis (Tonia), Rhonda Mitchell, Yvette Lyle (Thomas), Sharon Simmons, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Special Thanks to Paragon Paving, Wade Wolf, and Kevin Dunn for being there for William during his times of need.
