Willie A. Evans

Willie A. Evans, 74, when home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2020.

Annette was born in Gainesville, Fl to the late Augustus & Thelma Brown on January 18, 1946. Her family moved to Virginia Beach, VA where she attended Union Kempsville High School and later transferred to Princess Anne High School where in 1964, she became the first African American student to graduate. She later furthered her education by attending Florida A&M University.

Annette married her high school sweetheart, Royal S. Evans, Jr. and from their union they had two children, Dolmeshia & Royal III. She was a member of Loving Spirit Baptist Church, Chicago, IL and for years attended New Hope Baptist Church, Va. Beach, VA. She was a strong Christian woman who loved to share the word of God with others. She loved singing gospel music and spending time with her family.

Besides her parents, Annette was predeceased by three sisters, Patricia White, Callie Andrews and Cora Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Dolmeshia Evans (Michael), Royal Evans, III (Amber); grandchildren, Sekiera, Charles, Rashad, Maciya Evans, Brandon Edgerson, Alyvia Bombe, Royal Evans IV; step mother, Elsie Brown; siblings, Robert & Lonnie Brown, Patricia Barnes (Larry), Michael Ridley, Elsie Tatum, Phyllis Gibson (Larry), Edward Ridley (Gloria), Tony Brown and a host of other relatives and friends.
