Willie Howard Womack, Sr., Master Sergeant, USMC, Retired, 90, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Sentara Leigh Hospital. Willie was born on July 16, 1933 in Pittsylvania County, (Danville), Virginia to the late Renbrandt Womack and Georgia Bruce Womack. Top Sergeant Womack enlisted in the USMC, June 19,1953 when he was 19 years old. His decorations and commendations included pistol expert badge, Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation, Gallantry Cross w/palm and Meritorious Unit Commendation. He was very proud to be a marine. After 22 years of service in the USMC he retired in June 1975.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Renbrendt and Georgia; the mother of his children, Nancy Condrey; sons, Willie Howard Womack, Jr. and Michael Womack.
Willie is survived by his three daughters, Peggy Hall (Emerson) of Cypress, TX, Diana Cuffee (Bruce), Angela Gregg (Holliman) all of Chesapeake, VA; sister, Leona Dixon; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. Willie Womack was a father, brother, uncle and a friend to all he met.
