Yvonne S. Turner, 72, slipped away quietly and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 2, 2022. She was born on November 25, 1950 as the oldest of eight children to the late Marshall and Minnie Scott.
Yvonne was raised in Norfolk, VA and was educated in the Norfolk, Public School System and she attended Booker T. Washington High School. Yvonne had a long career as a Food Service Manager with Norshipco for over 15 years and Food Service Manager for QVC 5 years. She furthered her career as the Dietician for St. Paul Learning Center for 12 years.
Yvonne was married to the late Louis Eugene Turner for 22 years. She attended St Paul COGIC all of her life and served as President of the Usher Board as well as part of the Women’s Choir. She loved the Lord and her family. Her favorite hobby was going to the mall to shop.
Yvonne was predeceased by her parents, Marshall and Minnie Scott; husband, Louis Eugene Turner; grandson, Brijan Brown, Sr.; siblings Marshall Scott, Jr., and Annis White.
Yvonne leaves to cherish her memory, her two sons, Arnell Scott (Angela), Kevin Scott; one daughter, Trina Howard; six grandchildren, Serethia Scott, Beverly Lang (BJ), Chelonte Kirby, Kameron Brinkley, Kayla Scott, Jenesis Scott; eleven great grandchildren; five siblings: Jacqueline Robinson (Surley), Gayle Crawley (Charles), Marjorie Whidbee, Pamela Veale, Altony Scott (Andrea); one brother-in-law, Charles White. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and a special friend, Rita Stith.
